The Red Crane

This project captures the beauty of industrial engineering through a series of photographs centred around construction cranes. I had inspiration from brutalist structures, architecture and urban development. I used clean compositions to highlight angles and shapes to show the unique viewing angles to highlight the scale and complexity of these cranes. I kept colours vibrant with consistent contrast to show their beauty. Rather than documenting the machinery alone, I aimed to present the industrial subjects as works of art, design and craftsmanship. The project finished with a short video demonstrating the images as I captured them, which then reveals the final edits showing the transformation and my technical editing skills.
